RED LODGE WEATHER

SPRING WEATHER

If you’re looking for Spring blooms and warmer temperatures, you wait a little longer in Red Lodge. In fact, it’s common to see snowstorms occurring throughout May with average daytime temperatures in the 50s. It’s a good idea to pack layers, as nighttime temps can drop to the 20s. Sunglasses are also important as you get out and enjoy the longer Spring days!

SUMMER WEATHER

No scorching summers here! The Summer weather in Red Lodge sticks to pleasant 60-70ºF during summer days. But pack a jacket: at night the temps can drop to the low 40s. Another thing to keep in mind is rapidly changing weather, specifically afternoon rainstorms and thunderheads which can sweep in quickly. Be prepared while hiking and climbing to avoid rain and lightning!

FALL WEATHER

Fall comes quickly in Red Lodge, and so do the chilly temps. Keep that in mind when looking for places to stay in Red Lodge! As the days get shorter, the changing leaf colors get more vibrant, and the temperature drops to daytime averages in the low 40s to low 60s. Pack layers and a heavier coat, as nighttime temps can get down to 20ºF and you may even see some snowfall, especially in October and November.

WINTER WEATHER

Red Lodge in the Winter is a snow-lover’s dream with daytime highs in the mid-30s and snow covering the ground by the middle of December. When looking for places to stay in Red Lodge, expect around one foot per month of snow, but be prepared for a storm or two that bring much more! Skiers and snowboarders should always check the day’s snow reports before hitting the mountain for some fresh powder.
